RICH ROBINSON RIG BY RACK SYSTEMS

The place to be when Bob means something more than just, well... Bob.

Postby RACKSYSTEMS » Tue Aug 25, 2009 6:42 am

Here is a cool rack just done up for Rich Robinson of the Black Crowes. The rack consists of a pedal chain and 4 amp sends and 2 pedal boards as pictured. Also in the mix is 2 Fulltone TTE tape echos and a Fender rev head. All pedals are in loops of 2 RJM Effect Gizmos and controlled on the floor by a Axess Fx1. There was a custom Rack Interface made for most of the connections and all amp sends are transformer isolated. There was a additional panel done for all the other connections to the rev and echos along with a extra loop for additional units that might come along. Here you go.

REAL NICE!!!!!!!

Rich is a real delay junky.
Also great to see that Dereks pedals made it to the racks of the
greatest rockstars.

Cool stuff.

Dumb question, why are the TTEs on top of the rack instead of mounted on a shelf in the rack? Seems like there was enough space.

Well I was told to put them on top. They are played with a lot. Also on a shelf they would each take up about 5 or 6 spaces each. Dave

That is soooo clean. Everything always seems to be aimed at the players specific challenges. Speaking of which, what does he use the whammy for? And what amps will he be using? Also, does the delay/whammy board also stay on the floor or is that switched remotely by the tech/sit on the rack?

You know I have no Idea on the amps or the whammy. I often don't know what people use stuff for unless I am really involved in the programming.

Does that present problems in ergonomics or does the player generally tell you where he wants stuff? Am I correct to assume it's more based on correct signal paths or does it differ based on client.

Yeah often the player dictates or they let me decide it just depends on the situation. Dave
